Soccer Coaching and Referee
Always maintain a respectable, mature relationship with the referee. This will help produce a more effective player. Players look to the coach for leadership during the game. If the coach is having a "fit" because of the referee, the following can be expected:
- The players will feel that the game is becoming out of control or worse, not in their control. By observing their coach they will get the impression that the referee is in control. Once the players feel they are no longer in control they will lose control.
- The referee will lose concentration, starting to think about controlling an "out of control" coach instead of concentrating on the play. If you think the referee is making poor decisions while concentrating, wait until you see what happens when not concentrating.
- You will look silly.
- The referee rarely reverses a decision.
- You will be in violation of the laws of the game.
