Are you ready for this soccer season?

Andrew Hemingway - Wednesday, July 23, 2008

The summer is quickly coming to a close, and the soccer season will soon be here! I love summer, only because it leads into our soccer season. There is nothing like a first practice. All the kids and coaches are brimming with excitement, and the coaches are ready to tackle the season ahead. Hopefully coaches have prepared for the season, or they are in for a big disappointment. Not only for themselves, but for their players, and the player's parents. So this begs the question: What should a coach do to be prepared? There are several things to do, and our coach will be writing a special article about this in the next few days, so stay tuned! But on the topic of being prepared...

We have just completed taping, editing, and uploading over 50 drills to the site. The library is now brimming with content. We are very close if not the largest online video library of youth soccer drills. We will have another 30 or so drills coming in the next few weeks, and we have more taping scheduled in August. Now is the time to step up to the plate and prepare yourself for this coming season, and there is no better way than joining our site and having access to all these great drills!

Should rec. level coaches be certified?

Andrew Hemingway - Thursday, July 17, 2008

We at CSC take coaches education very seriously. We believe that every coach should do the same.  So we created a certification course for the volunteer coach. This program is all web based, and combines video drills, and a curriculum that any coach would find helpful. It is our desire that this course will take the anxiety away that beginner coaches often face. We also know that you will find the drills easy to understand, and your players will love them. There are four age groups for the course- u6, u8, u10, and u12.

Exciting News!

Andrew Hemingway - Friday, June 27, 2008

Complete Soccer Coach is moving forward very quickly, We have just received a sponsor from Josh Gros. Josh is a player for D.C. United and on the coaching staff for the U-23 National Team. He played one game for the US National team as well. To have a player of his status to recommend that coaches should join this site is awesome. We thank Josh for taking his time to use the site, and are happy that he has found it to be a useful tool!

This is what Josh said about it: "Complete Soccer Coach is a great learning tool for any new or experienced coach. The key to youth soccer is in getting kids to learn and have fun at the same time. Complete Soccer Coach accomplishes both by giving drills and advice for great practice sessions which will give the kids something they haven't seen before. I would recommend Complete Soccer Coach to any coach that wants better practices and better players. "

So now is the time to join our community, and get access to our video drill library! If a player of Josh's status thinks its worth it...it must be! Look forward to seeing you inside. Coaching kids soccer

Andrew Hemingway - Wednesday, June 25, 2008

"Coaching"- just the word probably brings flash backs of many coaches we may have had...good/bad...either way the word coach brings something to mind. For many it's a paralyzing fear, for others it's a way they interact with their children. We here at Complete Soccer Coach believe that coaching kids soccer can be one of the most rewarding experiences of a persons life.

Having the opportunity to coach childrens soccer should be a way for you to introduce to your team a fantastic sport. Along with teaching sportsmanship, team work, and all the other great character building attributes.

Here are three things that you can do to lower your anxiety, and be the best coach you can be.

  • 1. Be prepared for practice- This is the most important thing you can do. Have a practice planned out, and stick to it. Arrive early, and have drills laid out before practice even starts. Use tools like Complete Soccer Coach to help prepare for your practice.
  • 2. Remember that they are just kids- Do not let your players run the practice. There is a reason that you are the coach. DO not be afraid to take charge, and make sure that your players work on your schedule and not theirs!
  • 3. Remember that they are kids- What a great opportunity that you have to work with kids. If your like me you there are moments you wonder what you were thinking when you signed up, and then there are those moments when you are repaid by something a player does, or you observe. Coaching kids soccer can be the most rewarding thing a person can do.

Go out there have fun, be prepared, and remember that they are just kids!

Almost There!!

Andrew Hemingway - Tuesday, June 17, 2008

Well folks we are almost ready to launch this amazing new site. We have put everything we had into launching this great site. We hope you like it, and use it to better your coaching. We are interested in positively affecting grassroots soccer in the U.S. So please use the tools we have provided to better your coaching and change a young players life today.
My best memories of youth soccer are of my coaches. There is one coach in particular that told me over and over that anything I could believe I could achieve. His teaching changed my soccer playing and my life. I am doing today what I have dreamed of for years now, because of him. If we can teach one coach how to affect a child's life like this man did mine, then we have more than succeeded!
